GET "CHIPPED" BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!
Today, Mommy is so thankful that I got "chipped", that is, microchipped, before she adopted me. I was playing in my new back yard yesterday, when I saw something I wanted to play with (I think it was a squirrel, but I'm not sure) - anyway, I jumped the fence and started running and playing and got lost - my Mommy was at work, so she couldn't help me - however, a very nice stranger saw me and caught me - then, he called the Animal Control people to help me find my Mommy - they took me to a very nice place called the "Longmont Humane Society" and they scanned my chip and called my Mommy right away!
My Mommy would be lost without me - she is very thankful that I did not get run over by a car and that I did not get lost forever. Be sure to tell your Mommy to get you "chipped" so you can be found if you ever get lost.
Oh, by the way, I now have to be on a very long lead outside when Mommy isn't around - she wants me to be safe so we can cuddle when she gets home from work. That's okay with me - I don't want to get lost anymore either.
Hi. My name is ANYA. Actually, my full name is "Princess Anya Mama's Snow Angel Marston McGregor". She also calls me "Boo-Boo Bear" "Baby Bear" and other cute stuff - ANYA means "Grace" in Russian. This is my diary/journal of my life in my new home with my new Mommy.

3 MORE DAYS!!!
January 23, 2012
Mommy said I will get a big surprise in 3 days!
Oh boy, oh boy - I can't wait!
I can't count either - but I still can't wait!
I know something is going on because Mommy and my big bubba Tony have been putting a lot of stuff in boxes and there are lots of boxes all over the house - it kinda makes me nervous, but Mommy gives me lots of hugs and kisses and doggie treats, so I am not too nervous (I think). My big sister cat (Cheyenne) LOVES the boxes - she jumps all over them and hides in them sometimes.
Hmmmm - I wonder what's my big surprise in 3 days - does it have to do with the boxes? I hope it's a bone or a toy or something - but I don't care - I know I will love it. Mommy always gives me good surprises.
On another note - Mommy got me a brand new crate/bed and I really love it - I was growing out of my other one - this one has LOTS of room - and it has a nice pillow for me to sleep on too - Mommy said, even though I can stay out of my crate more, I still need my own "girly" space sometimes, just like she has.
Here's a few pics of the boxes - WOW - lots of boxes! I wonder if my big surprise is in one of those boxes?

ANYA'S BEING A GOOD GIRL NOW!
January 10, 2012
I am learning to be such a good girl! Mommy is training me to be out of my crate and sometimes off-leash - and I did a great job last night!
Mommy keeps me in the kitchen at night with a long lead (not in the crate anymore) so I can play with my toys and get food and water - that way, if I have an accident, it's easier to clean up - however, I got loose last night (not sure how), and I did not bother Mommy or get into anything at all! I stayed in the kitchen and living room area, did not potty on anything, and when she got ready for work this morning, I was by the front door ready to give her a big doggie kiss!
She is soooooooo proud of me and gave me lots of extra hugs!
P.S.
Mommy said she has a big surprise for me soon - and I can't wait to find out what it is!

THERE'S A DAISY IN MY SHADOW!

THERE'S A DAISY IN MY SHADOW
One day when we were walking, My Mommy said to me.
There's a Daisy in your shadow - Look - can you see?
I looked and saw my shadow and said - What do you mean?
All I see is you, Mommy, walking here with me.
She said, I had another dog who passed years ago,
She was my Daisy - I really loved her so.
There were times before you came, when I knew she was near
And when she picked you out for me - all became so clear.
Daisy is an angel now, sent from up above
She is in your shadow - sending us her love.
I looked again and YES - I could clearly see
There's a Daisy in my shadow - watching my Mommy and me.

SHE'LL BE COMIN' AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WHEN SHE COMES!

SHE'LL BE COMIN' AROUND THE MOUNTAIN WHEN SHE COMES!
YEP - had a great day hiking on Rabbit Mountain with Mommy today after she got home from church - we went further this time than before - and sat at the top and looked down at everything below - we went around to the top of the mountain so we could see Big Thompson Canyon and Poudre Canyon off in the distance - we could also see down at Berthoud, Loveland, and Longmont (where we live).
I am pooped now - WOOF!

ANYA THE PILLOW PET!
11/22/2011
ANYA THE "PILLOW PET"
Mommy said I have been very good at learning to be house-broken - she now lets me sleep with her on her big king-size bed - she said there's plenty of room for both of us. I have been sleeping outside my crate for 3 nights now and so far, no accidents. As long as I don't have an accident, I can stay out of my crate at night. I have been very still and quiet and let Mommy get her beauty sleep. Sometimes I will put my paw on her or scoot up next to her, but mostly, I stay at the foot of the bed - I like to have my own girly space too!
When she gets up in the morning to get ready for work, I just lay on the bed and watch her - then I give her lots of doggie kisses before she leaves.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!
11/19/2011
Today was Mommy's birthday - she had a great time with my big bubba Tony and some of her best gal friends - they went to lunch and she brought me back a doggie bag - YUM! Bubba Tony gave Mommy a brand new guitar - and I help her sing when she plays - Mommy also got a new winter coat - she doesn't have fur like me to keep her warm, although I do cuddle with her a lot - I also gave her extra kisses for her special day!

I WOKE UP ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THE DOGGIE BED...
Saturday was not a good day for me (Oct 23, 2011)
Mommy wanted to clean house, do things like that, and it made me nervous. I don't know why. When she sits still and I can sit next to her, I am okay. But when she moves around a lot, it makes me nervous and I start to cry and whine and sometimes pee and poop on the floor. I know it gets on Mommy's nerves. I don't mean to do it.
Mommy thinks it has something to do with the people that owned me first - like PTSD (don't ask me - I have no idea what that means) - she said I might be afraid she will abandon me or something. I don't really remember that, but she said it must be in my "subconscious" - don't know what that is either.
I was much better Sunday - we went for a walk and I gave Mommy loves of doggie kisses.

I LOVE MY BONE...I REALLY LOVE MY BONE!! (10-21-2011)
My mommy is the greatest! My old bone is almost gone, and she brought me a new one! Well, I had to take a bath first, bit it was worth it!

AND ANOTHER TRAINING COLLAR BITES THE DUST!
I did not like the HOLT collar, or the GENTLE LEADER, or the 2 HARNESSES Mommy tried on me - but I do like the chain collar - it doesn't hurt me and it isn't around my snout, which I really hated. I have so much fur, that it doesn't pinch me - and it is strong enough not to break - and I don't complain about it - and I can go for more walks with Mommy now and she doesn't worry about me breaking it like the old ones did (I chewed some of them because I didn't like them - but don't tell Mommy).

Summer's almost over!
Been a busy summer - spending time with Mommy and now, my big bubba Tony, who moved back home with us to go to College. I also have my little bubba, Momo, back, who went to stay with his cousin for a few months. Cheyenne is still my sweet little sister - and she likes to play "peek-a-boo" in boxes.
Summer is almost over - but the fun isn't - we plan to go camping again soon - not sure where yet.
Mommy took me to the top of big mountains on Trail Ridge Road at Rocky Mountain National Park - she will post pics soon.
Here are a few pics:
Me, helping Mommy outside
Momo, taking a nap (I can tell he's glad to be back home)
Cheyenne, playing "peek-a-boo"
Tony, my youngest big bubba, starting College next week

Training Progress and Almost Kitty Progress - 04/12/2011
WUFF WUFF!
Making progress with the kitties - they are slowly becoming not afraid of me - they will now stay in the same room with me - but still won't let me get too close - AND, the boy kitty slept close by me all night - but not too close - Mommy stayed between us.
Won't be long they will let me play with them!
Definitely progressing in my puppy training - I go to the door when I need to go outside to potty - and I have the "lay down" command down all the time now - Mommy is really proud of me!

Very Good Girl - 04/11/2011
I was a very good girl today - I did all of my homework and remembered all my new commands from school - I played with Shugga and Jake - I am starting to learn to stay away from the kitties - and I had special mommy time after everyone else went to bed - we played ball and I got a belly rub!
Yep - today was a good doggie day!

Doggie Kindergarten - Week 2 - 04/10/2011
BOW-WOW-WOW!
Had lots of fun in Doggie Kindergarten this week - showed my teacher how good I am at "sit" and "shake" - now I am learning "down" (for lay down) and "stand". I got to see my doggie friends.
Mommy took me to get cheese tater tots afterwards - that's my favorite part!
After we got home, we were both pooped and took a nap. Then, we worked on our homework and I was very good and behaved. I am learning how to let her lead me on the leash and not pull. Also, I really like the "down" command - because I get a tummy rub when I do it right! I let Mommy brush me good. I still want to play with the kitties, but am trying to stay away.
Won't be long I will be able to go camping with Mommy and my big brothers Jake and Tony and my best friend, Shugga. We are going to have LOTS of fun!
The day before school (Saturday) - we went for a long drive with Jake and Shugga (my doggie buddy) to look at houses - Mommy wants to find us a new home with a bigger yard so I can run and play. I don't have much yard now.
My Mommy sure loves me!

Good Girl - Well, Mostly Good Girl - 04/06/2011
I was a mostly good girl today.
I did not mess my crate.
I did not whine or cry.
I played ball with Mommy. It was fun.
And, I behaved. Well, sort of. I just can't help it. I want to play with the kitties so much. They keep running from me. Momo, my little bubba kitty, keeps hiding from me. He hid under a blanket in Mommy's lap, but I found him. I tried to catch Cheyenne, and she ran to Mommy's lap - and that's where I found Momo - I tried to kiss them, but they ran off.
Bummer.
Mommy just laughs. She said that Daisy loved kitties too. I bet Daisy is playing with kitties in Heaven right now and they don't run off.
Other than that, I did very well. I ate all my supper and slept all night right next to Mommy.
Mommy said when she adopted me, the rescue people gave her a big bag of dog food that has Daisy's picture on it. She said that Daisy is taking care of us. She's our guardian angel. Here's a picture.

No More Kitty Food! 04/05/2011
I really missed Mommy today while she was at work. When she got home from work, I stayed right by her side and gave her lots of hugs and kisses. I was a little fussy, because my tummy was upset. I guess it was because I got into the kitty food without Mommy looking. It gave me the runny poop.
I want so very much to play with the kitties - but Mommy keeps saying "No Kitty" - they need to take their time to get to know me better - I am so much bigger than they are that they are afraid of me - don't they know I just want to play?
Other than that, I was a good girl today. No accidents in the house. But I did whine when Mommy tried to put me to bed. She finally realized I was trying to tell her that I need to poop again and took me outside to go to the bathroom - Then she hugged me and let me sleep close to her all night.
That kitty food sure tasted good - but made my tummy hurt!
I will try very hard not to eat the kitty food again (but no promises).
Here's a picture of my new adopted kitty brother and sister - Momo is the boy short haired kitty - Cheyenne is the girl long-hair kitty - they sure are cute - just like me!

I AM SO PROUD OF ME! 04/04/2011
I was a very good girl today.
I didn't mess my crate.
I didn't mess in the house.
I behaved when I went to walk with Mommy and she took me to the pond. I love to walk by the pond so I can look at all the birds and ducks and geese.
Mommy gives me LOTS of hugs and kisses and treats when I behave, so I try very hard to please her.
I am doing well with my school homework, too. This week, I have to obey the silent "sit" command.
I did whine a little when I wanted to play with the kitties, but Mommy said I couldn't. They still need some time to get used to me.
HOWEVER, I went straight to bed at bedtime and did not whine or cry.
Today was a very happy doggie day!
THIS IS ME SAYING "I WUV YOU" TO MOMMY:

Doggie Kindergarten - Week One - 04/03/2011
BOW-WOW - had fun today at my first day of Doggie School - my teacher is very nice and gives me treats. I made new doggie friends. The best part is I get to spend special time with Mommy.
Here are some pics:
My Teacher, Leslie
My new friends
OH - and here's the park we went to on Saturday, 04/02/2011 - we stayed close to home today:
I really like this pond that's by our house - lots of ducks, geese, trees, and other birds - we even saw a Great Blue Heron!
Look at the Geese - they sure like to HONK!
There's a Great Blue Heron across this pond on a rock - hard to see - but I SAW IT!
Lots of birds in this tree - I was very curious about them - they make funny noises

Colorado State Parks
WOW and BOW-WOW-WOW!
My Mommy just told me that we will soon start hiking at most of the Colorado State Parks. She found out that almost all 42 state parks allow doggies - and you know what that means - I am going to make lots of new people friends and doggie friends - and she said I will get to see lots of trees and big rocks and mountains and lakes and rivers and - oh, I can't remember the rest. The best part is, I get to spend more time with my new Mommy.
She said that as soon as I graduate doggie kindergarten - we will go camping and I get to sleep outside in a tent under the stars with her!
Hey, what's a tent?
